Quotes About Fall

Now that September is upon us, it seems that we can almost smell Fall in the air!

Summer may be fun, but when the weather gets cooler and the leaves start falling, we can tell that a change is happening. Autumn is the transition season that leads us from the hot, bright sunny months into the cold, dark nights of winter and all of the fun the end of the year will bring. When Fall begins, we are just a hop, skip and jump away from Halloween, Thanksgiving, and (dare I say it?!) Christmas.

Pumpkins, hot apple cider, warm sweaters, fluffy scarves, boots… these are all things we have to look forward to in the coming weeks.

So whether you’re looking for a cute quote to accompany a post on Facebook or Instagram, or just looking for something to get you in the mood for the new season,

Here are a selection of some of the best quotes about Fall.

Inspired by nature

The Autumn season is known as Fall in the US and Canada because one of the characteristics of the season is the shedding of leaves from deciduous trees. The colors we all associate with Fall – the transition from green to light yellow, deep gold, orange, crimson and dark red – are all inspired by this natural process. Falling leaves and the colors of the season have fascinated writers and poets for centuries. Here are some of their best quotes:

“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.”

– Emily Brontë

“How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days.”

– John Burrows

“There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of Autumn leaves.”

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. “

“A fallen leaf is nothing more than a summer’s wave goodbye.”

Though Autumn is traditionally a season of letting things go, it can also be a season of renewal and rebirth.

It can be a time to adopt a fresh new outlook on life and find enjoyment in the little things. There may be fewer flowers, but there are plenty of ripe fruits to be found! Head out for some apple picking at a local orchard, hit up the corn maze, or go to the pumpkin patch to see the abundant beauty of all that nature has to offer this Fall. Many churches and local organizations have pumpkin patches where you can go and snap a few photos and buy a few pumpkins. Whether you want to make a pie or a halloween lantern, this is the perfect place!

A quick Google search will let you know what is going on in your area – from group hikes to apple picking, pumpkin patches and more. This is the best season to get out outside with friends and family.

After the heat of summer, the coming of cooler days can be a real treat. You can return the bikinis, denim shorts and summer dresses to your closet and finally dig out the warm cozy sweaters that have been lurking at the back. Swapping sandals for sturdy leather boots or wellies means we get to hit the trails, kick up the leaves, and make the most of the great outdoors!

It’s time to get bundled up and enjoy walking outside in the fresh cool air, watching the leaves, before coming home to get cozy with a cup of cocoa or hot apple cider.
